About Terp Float Festival
Welcome to the Terp Float Festival, Oklahoma's premier cannabis and river float festival, held on the scenic banks of the Illinois River in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. This unique three-day event, scheduled for August 2nd and 3rd, with an early check-in and pre-party on August 1st, has rapidly grown into a landmark occasion, drawing in over 4,700 attendees last year and reaching a sell-out status.
The Terp Float Festival was born from a simple vision between two friends, Brent McDonald and Josh Berner. Their vision was to fuse live music, cannabis on the enchanting Illinois River at the gateway to the Ozarks. The event returns for its fourth year and has since evolved into a full-fledged festival, celebrating community, music, and the great outdoors, all infused with a spirit of freedom, joy and exotic terps. Our festival offers an immersive river float experience, starting 6 miles upstream where you will enjoy a casual float taking in the beautiful scenery , enjoying the company of friends old and new!
This year marks a new chapter as we transition to our new home at Sparrowhawk Camp, located directly on the Illinois River. This move allows us to expand our festival grounds, incorporating a larger area that includes a refreshing swimming hole and two stages of live music. The highlight is our all-new "beach stage" set right at the swimming hole, creating the perfect backdrop for day parties, live music, and late-night jams.
Spanning over 40 acres, the new resort supports private boats and car camping, boasting more than a half-acre of river/beachfront camping. We're setting the stage for three days of non-stop entertainment, starting with a pre-party and early entry on August 1st (special pass required). With over 30 live acts and more than 100 brands and sponsors, including Oklahoma's finest cannabis brands, the festival promises a vibrant mix of bluegrass, jamgrass, electro-funk, bass, house, and more, ensuring there's something for everyone.
Don't miss out on this unforgettable weekend on the Illinois River. Join us to float, dance, and be part of our ever-growing Terp Float Family. It's more than just a festival; it's a community coming together to create memories that will last a lifetime. See you on the river!
